Birthday Cake!

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to make my cake BEFORE my birthday, so I made it today... It was supposed to look like a giftbox- Pink wrapping, purple ribbon. I was too lazy to make any other colors for frosting and didn't feel like elaborating anymore. So I just made a box, pretty much! Came out nice, tasted even better. ;o) It looked like a girlified Sweden flag in my opinion though- Next time I think I might play around a litle with fondant icing, I have never done it before but it's looking more and more interesting. I have heard it doesn't taste great, but then again, I have never tried it myself!

Help yourself to a slice!

  1. Make your own fondant.
It's really easy, (a bit messy) there is a recipe for Marshmallow Fondant online.

I covered a cake with it this weekend, and WOW! I flavored it with almond and vanila (very little) and it tasted and smelled yummy. I highly recommend this recipe. I even got some store bought and tried them side by side, and the consistency is pretty much the same, but the taste (and smell) is very different.
Here's a pic of my cake I made with it. It was my first attempt.
